How to Get Off to a Fast Start

 

Make sure you complete your Referring Travel Agent application & Agreement.  Although you will receive this form in your travel starter kit, you can download this form from your back office site.  (Just go to your ytb.com/yourtravelname).  Put in your username and password to log in.  Go to the top of page and click on downloads.  Click on the application and print it out.  Send this off with a passport size picture (one for you and one for secondary applicant).  Send next day mail.

1.      Order your business cards from your (ytbnet.com back office site).  You can go to your back office and purchase a domain name to make your web address shorter.  For example: (Johnsmithtravel.com).  Attend the RTA certification training.  (Look on your back office for the next Certification near you).  Remember your start date and make sure that your account always has the $49.95 hosting available when the draft date comes around.  (This is very important.)  Always make sure that you have a Y next to your name on your genealogy in the back office.

 

Make Your List (See and Complete Call to Action Packet)

 

Start making your list of prospects.  When making your prospect list, here are five important things to remember:

 

1.      Recruit up

2.      Recruit people with a circle of influence

3.      Recruit self starters, go getters and leaders (red, yellow, green)

4.      People who had success in operating their own business

5.      People who are leaders in their church organization

 

You Must Bring Qualified Prospects To The Table

 

Before you bring any prospect to a grand opening travel party, hotel meeting or get them in front of your sponsor you must qualify them first.

First put them on the 5 minute sizzle call or send them to your website to see the online presentation.

 

This is what you will say, “Hello John, this is Larry, I have to be somewhere in an hour, do you have 5 minutes”?  If they say yes, then you say, “Great, listen to this”.  Then three-way them into the sizzle call 212-990-6138.  Then immediately ask them, “What did you like best about what you just heard”?  Let them tell you.  Then you say, “On a scale of 1-10, where do you see yourself? 1 being you don’t have any interest and 10 being that you see yourself getting involved”.  If they say anything less than a 7 your say, “Okay great, right now, because of the magnitude and timing of the opportunity with this company, I need to only work with people who are a 7 or above.  “But from time to time I have great travel deals and steals that pop up on my site and with your permission, I would love to keep you informed. 

 

What’s your email address”?  Then add their email address to your ATM.  If they say 7 or above, you say: “Okay great.  I have a business partner named (______) he or she has been with YTB travel a lot longer than me and has had incredible success with the company.  If I can arrange a time to get him/her on the line for about 5 minutes to explain a little more about the business would that be okay.  Then call your sponsor or power team leader.  Give some background info about your prospect and arrange a time for the three-way call.  (Have them block out a window of time for your to call them with your prospect on the line.)

 

Then you call your prospect and make sure they’re ready to do the three-way.  When you get them on the line, tell them to hold on and click over to call your sponsor or power team leader.  When your power team leader picks up the line, you say: Hi (Mr./Mrs. Power team leaders), this is John, I have (Name of prospect) on the line, He/she has been on the sizzle call and has rated himself/herself a seven on the level of interest. (Prospect) this is (insert Power team leaders Name).

 

He/she has been extremely successful with our company and on his/her way straight to the top of this company.  John, this is Mr. Power team leader.  Then you don’t speak for the rest of the call.  The Power team leader will take it from there.  They will say, “John, I understand that you have been speaking with _____ about the business, what do you like best about what you’ve heard?”  When they answer, the Power team leader will then say: 

 

That’s great.  That’s what I like best too.  Do you have any other questions?  Do you see an opportunity for yourself with this company?  If they need additional exposures to the business: Put them on the www.financialsuccesstravel.com or www.ytb.com site.  Invite them to the hotel briefing or next opportunity meeting. (They are now a qualified prospect.)

 

LAUNCH A GRAND OPENING TRAVEL PARTY!

 

Qualified Invitation Process

  • Go through you names list.  Over-invite.  If you invite 20, you’ll be lucky if 5 show up.
  • Make sure to invite people over 30 minutes before start time.
  • Tell them about the free Mini-Vacation that they will receive just for coming to view this.  Tell them to always bring friends with them and that they will get a special gift if they do.  (This can be something simple from the dollar store.)
  • Cross TEAM support system. We are ONE BIG TEAM and ONE BIG FAMILY.  Open your travel party to other members, crossline and their guests.  This will guarantee a successful meeting.  This adds excitement, credibility and relatedness.
  • People must call the host/hostess to reserve a spot.
  • Make the telephone calls to invite prospects to your Travel Party.

 

“Hi, I’m             . What are doing next Tuesday? Great, listen.  I just got involved in an exciting new business and thought of you.  I’m having a new business kickoff at my home and I could really use your help. I’d like you to come and EVALUATE it for me. Now, it may or may not be of interest to you, but I know you’ll be able to lead me to the right people.  I’m really counting on you.”  By the way could you please bring a dish or a snack?  Thanks for helping me out, I owe you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Materials 

Power Team Leader or Enroller make the following available:

  • Table in the back set up with a computer with internet access, if possible
  • White board, markers and eraser
  • A table with your product display
  • Success From Home magazines
  • Business cards
  • Local schedule to plug into Business Briefing and training (Getting Started)
  • Company – approved handouts to establish credibility

 

Prepare the Meeting Room

  • Have the room set up with some nice pictures of different travel locations and travel magazines.
  • Have travel music playing and hand out leis.  Be creative and fun!
  • Be sure there is adequate seating in an open area and make sure you have a TV or DVD set up that can be seen by everyone so that the presentation will go well.
  • Make sure all animals and children are put in their place and all phones (including cell phones) are turned off for presentation.

 

How To Do A Grand Opening

 

1.      Invite those prospects that you have qualified to your home to see a presentation about the business.

2.      Your sponsor or power team leader can host your travel party if they live in the area.

3.      Have light refreshments.

4.      Do not re-arrange your furniture.  Keep everything as normal.

5.      Do not try to camouflage your travel party to be anything else.

6.      Do not dilute your grand opening with alcohol, dancing and partying.  Keep the main thing, the main thing.  (Make money in your business.)

 

At the end of the grand opening, your sponsor will take questions.  Then they will ask everyone what they liked best about what they have seen.  Then the sponsor will ask everyone if they see an opportunity for themselves.

 

Next, your sponsor will ask you to pass out applications to everyone in the room.  Your sponsor/power team leader will go over the application and ask everyone to get started.  Those who sign up will be asked to go ahead and give dates for their first grand opening/travel party.  Make sure you have a sign up sheet designed to put the travel party dates on the calendar.

 

Let’s Get Started

 Start on time – be courteous to everyone’s schedule.

  • Edify your sponsor/team member or person showing the plan
  • Introduction and your story (1-2 minutes).  Host/hostess welcomes everyone and thanks them for supporting their new exciting business then continues with the introduction.
  • Hand out the Travel Survey and have all your guests fill out to get their free Mini-Vacation. (Do this before the DVD , so you can look through them and see their travel habits.)
  • Paint a picture.  Ask them, “If time and money were no object, where would you go on a dream vacation?”  Share your dream vacation as well and get the video or presentation started.  I turn off the DVD right after the price and before the compensation!  HAVE FUN!
  • Plan (10 minutes).
  • Close (10 minutes).  Sort into 1’s, 2’s, 3’s and 4’s. (A’s, B’s and C’s process)  When you finish, call your Power Team Leader or “expert” up and they will tell your guests – “We find that people usually fit one of three categories when they watch the presentation:  1) They love the vacation and travel perks, 2) They want to save money on their taxes, 3) they are interested in making some extra income or 4) They want all three of these benefits!”

 

How To Do A Plug & Play Grand Opening Travel Party

 

1.      Make sure you have a speaker phone in the room.

Open up with a quick introduction.  Introduce yourself and thank everyone for coming.  Let them know that you are excited about showing them how to travel for pennies on the dollars while saving on their taxes.

2.      Pop in the YTB DVD and let your prospects watch.

3.      At the conclusion of the DVD, dial up your sponsor or power team leader on your speaker phone.

4.      Your sponsor will get the names of everyone in the room and take questions over the phone.

5.      Then they will ask everyone what they like best about what they have seen.  Then the sponsor will ask everyone if they see an opportunity for themselves.

6.      Over the phone, your sponsor will ask you to pass out applications to everyone in the room.  Your sponsor/power team leader will go over the application and ask everyone to get started.

Those who sign up will be asked to go ahead and give dates for their first Grand Opening/Travel Party.

7.      Make sure you have a sign up sheet designed to put the travel party dates on the calendar.

 

Let's Wrap It Up

 

  • Try and book 2 or 3 new Travel Parties and ask them what they liked best about what they saw.
  • Welcome all new RTAs that joined and make a big deal! (Attention everyone!  I would like to welcome the newest member of our team                               ! Let’s give him/her a big hand!)
  • Book Follow-up and hand out Call To Action Packet.
  • Book next event.
  • Promote the value of “The System”.
  • Make sure there is at least 1 laptop or notebook computer in the meeting.
